PHY2048 course notes

This section will be updated as the course progresses. You will find here my notes for the lectures that will help you to check for mistakes in your class notes. The notes will be posted some time after the topic has been covered in class.

Course on basic differential and integral calculus: follow this link (calculus)* to go into a web-based course about the basic concepts of integral and differential calculus.

*There are many web-based courses with basic mathematics tools that will help you. You can also find very helpful books about basic mathematics in the UCF library.

Notes to appear:

Unit 1: 1-D motion
Unit 2: Vectors

Unit 3: 2-D motion
Unit 4: Newton’s laws and Applications
Unit 5: More on Newton’s laws – Circular Motion
Unit 6: Energy of a System
Unit 7: Linear Momentum
Unit 8: Rotation and Angular Momemtum
Unit 9: Equilibrium and Elasticity
Unit 10: Periodic motion

Quizzes used in the course

2048_formulas_for_exams (With formulas for Unit 10 this time!)

2048 Spring 2017 EXAM 1 solutions
2048 Spring 2017 Exam 2 solutions
2048 Spring 2017 EXAM 3 solutions
(note that multiple choice question 1 will count correct regardless of what you have answered. And there is a typo in Problem 2. The answer is 4.16, not 8.3) THERE WON’T BE REVISION FOR TEST 3.

CHECK WEBASSIGN FOR INFORMATION ABOUT GRADES AND OTHER THINGS
Remember, the third exam (units 8-10) will be 8:00-9:15AM on Thursday, April 27th in MSB260 (our usual classroom)
